About Us

Our vision is to create a supportive and inclusive improv theatre environment to allow improvisers to express themselves through scenes and play. Our mission is to build our own space for drama fanatics at King's and include the community through public performances. We host weekly sessions including group check-ins, improv warm-ups, and improv games.

We seek performance opportunities within the school and outside of the school, such as attending festivals of other universities, to grow our membership. We host shows in the theatre that are celebrations of everyone's progress. Our purpose is to invite the King's community to step away from the pressures and social norms of university life and let their inner child out to play.

We hope to directly impact the community and bring laughter and joy.

How much experience do I need to have to be able to come?

Beginners and improv professionals alike are welcome to come jam together in our regular meetups.

Can I come once just to check it out?

You bet! We're hoping that you'll have so much fun though that you'll want to come back and bring all of your friends.

Is the club 2SLGBTQ+ friendly?

Absolutely! Everyone is more than encouraged to come as they are. We introduce ourselves with our name and pronouns at the beginning of every jam.

How often does the club meet?

We meet once a week in N106 (the Drama Room) throughout the academic term, except for on holidays or days when the school is closed. Check our schedule to ensure that we're meeting up when you want to jam with us!

How much does it cost?

Jams are free to attend for King's students and alumni.

What is improv and why do you do it?

'Improv' is short for improvisational theatre and is whackloads of fun! Come and see for yourself or check out our Resources section for more information.
